A man of Cuban origin, 61 years old, residing in Miami Lakes has been accused of lewd acts against a 9-year-old girl and a 10-year-old boy.

According to the authorities, the incident occurred last Saturday when security cameras captured the moment González inappropriately touched the two minors, who were visiting his home.

The man, in addition to groping the intimate parts of the two children, would also have touched himself over his clothing.

The little ones later revealed what happened to their mother, triggering the formal accusation and the police investigation.

The accused, identified as Rolando González, appeared on Wednesday morning in the Miami-Dade criminal court, where he faced charges for alleged lascivious acts against two minors.

"I am in a state of shock because in 29 years I never saw any signs, I didn’t see anything strange, and with what just happened, seen on the cameras, what can I say," said the wife of the accused in statements to Telemundo 51, who had been with the now accused for almost three decades.

"This happened in a matter of minutes, as I was making the bed because my sister had arrived," the woman, who spoke on condition of anonymity, added, indicating that she has not been able to watch the video.

"I couldn't see it. I couldn't, but my children did; they told me it was horrible and that I shouldn't watch it," she stated.

"I have not been able to recover. I am completely 'shaken up.' My whole family is frankly affected. I have been sleeping with the enemy for 29 years. I slept with someone I did not know," concluded the woman, Hispanic but apparently not of Cuban origin.

The case has generated concern among the neighbors, who describe the accused as a seemingly calm person with no history of suspicious behavior.

Rolando González rejected the accusations before Judge Mindy S. Glazer, who denied him bail and issued a restraining order prohibiting any type of contact with the alleged victims.

González was transferred to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center (TGK). This Thursday, another judge was scheduled to determine whether he will be released before the trial or not.
