Israel Daniel, a 10-year-old boy from Cárdenas, Matanzas, is making hopeful strides toward recovery after a high-risk surgery that successfully removed a significant portion of a brain tumor.

Danielito's story has touched the Cuban community both on and off the Island, as the child, who was born healthy, faced a drastic change in his life after an accident while playing, which initially caused a blood clot in his head.

During his treatment, the doctors discovered a brain tumor that, within a few months, took away his vision, speech, and ability to walk.

Christian Arbolaez reported this Wednesday on Facebook that Danielito underwent a complex surgery with a successful outcome.

"We bring you good news. The operation was a complete success. They were able to remove a large part of the tumor without complications during the surgery," he emphasized excitedly.

Additionally, it was reported that the child is in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), where he will remain sedated while he recovers.

The family and the medical team are awaiting the results of a biopsy that will determine the next steps in her treatment, she emphasized.

The community of Cárdenas and Cubans in general have been a significant support for this family during this process: "We have already delivered a backpack full of toys, sweets, clothes, and 10,000 MN thanks to your donations," emphasized Arbolaez.

Misleidis' mother expressed her deep gratitude to everyone who has contributed with their help and prayers: “She is determined not to leave his side until he can leave completely recovered,” Arbolaez stated.

This case has highlighted how solidarity can make a difference, especially in such delicate situations.

Arbolaez concluded his update with a message full of hope: “Thank you for showing that together we are stronger. Let’s continue sending strength and prayers for this little champion.”

They live in a boarding house that was once a warehouse, with no internal divisions, bathroom, or kitchen, and rely on a bucket for their basic needs.

The family consists of three teenagers, aged 12, 14, and 16, in addition to the affected child, and they are currently awaiting a response from the housing authorities in Cárdenas and the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) regarding the possibility of receiving more suitable housing.

In the midst of the economic difficulties faced by the population, Cuban civil society continues to demonstrate its commitment to life, joining forces to address the urgent needs of the most vulnerable.

Recently, this very community of Cardenenses has begun to mobilize its efforts to assist Alina, a mother who is fully dedicated to caring for her son Yaciel, who suffered from cerebral palsy when he was just a baby.

This situation radically changed her life, forcing her to leave her profession as a nurse to attend to all the needs of her son, who is now 37 years old and is completely dependent on her.
