The incident occurred at Parque Martí in the city of Morón on Monday night, when several young people were arguing about a soccer match and, in the heat of the dispute, one of them pulled out a knife and inflicted several fatal wounds to Vidal's neck, digital media reported.

According to the digital magazine Árbol Invertido, the murderer attacked Vidal with a machete, while the claimed that a knife was used to take his life.

The murder has shocked the community and caused profound distress among Vidal's family, friends, and other loved ones. Several people have commented on social media that his parents, Eladia and José, are heartbroken.

“God, what a great sadness, to take the life of a human being, especially a young one, over such a silly argument,” is the sentiment expressed by Yirsy Domínguez, captured in the publication of Árbol Invertido.

"If the police patrolled and didn't allow anyone on the streets after 10 at night, there would be fewer tragedies. The only thing this country had was tranquility, and now that's gone too," the Cuban woman stated.

"What a sadness, for God's sake. Yakin, my neighbor... justice. My condolences to his parents, who must be devastated," expressed Yuly Oni Yemaya Ferrer.

Other residents of Morón and Cubans in general have reacted with outrage and sorrow at the murder of the young man and condemn the growing violence and insecurity in the country, holding the Police and other authorities responsible for the lack of a firm and effective response to crime, as well as the weak enforcement of laws against criminals.

"When did our Morón become such an aggressive city? We are overwhelmed by a lack of safety and civic tranquility, which was certainly one of the few things we had left. There are missing persons, assaults, murders. A youth that considers pulling out a knife before engaging in a classic fistfight. A very strict Criminal Code with punitive measures, but which is completely ignored," reflected a woman.

“EPD to family and friends, losing a relative unexpectedly hurts because I experienced it, even more so when they are sentenced to three years in a farm, as if human life has no value. I have been waiting for 22 years for the laws regarding this to change; someone who kills a cow receives more years than the one who takes a family member from us,” emphasized a young woman.

Many were drastic in their opinions and demand that the authorities be relentless in judging crimes: “Gentlemen, when will the law be applied so that those who kill like this also pay with their lives? Until that law is proven, this violence will continue here in Cuba; here, they kill coldly, like drinking a glass of water, and nothing happens,” one person stated.

“Did they catch the culprits????”, asked another person. “Poor young man, another life cut short and family suffering... Those responsible must pay or the responsible one.... How sad, Cuba has no peace or tranquility, safety is gone, and what are young people doing with knives... and what is the police doing not conducting raids to put an end to crime and vandalism...”.
