Cuban authorities are searching for a man accused of the murder of a young mother in the municipality of Colón, Matanzas.
The incident occurred on Sunday night in the industrial area of the Libertad neighborhood and has caused shock within the community.
Although there is no official confirmation yet, reports on social media claim that the victim was named Verónica and had two daughters. She was shot and then stabbed multiple times.

The funeral of the young mother was on Monday at 1:00 PM.
Yoyo H Elías, a self-employed individual, stated in the post that the alleged murderer had been in prison. "I don't know where he got that violence from; he has never been like that. I hope they catch him quickly and he doesn't manage to hurt anyone else, as I found out that he threatened the victim’s children and grandmother," he recounted.
"Where are we heading, a weapon, where did they get it, who gave it to them, who lent it to them, because in Cuba supposedly no one uses weapons, except for the repressors," questioned Yannie Hernández.
"What a shame about that young woman, I knew her, she had two daughters. Rest in peace. And now I say, you have the courage to kill a defenseless woman but you don’t have the guts to go out into the streets and demand freedom for your people who are suffering from misery and hunger," criticized Ricardo Cribes from Miami.
Several internet users commented that the murderer was found dead after committing suicide, but this has not been confirmed.
"They found him dead because it is said he had left a note saying not to look for him, that he was going to kill himself," said Arialys Carmona.
"They say he was found dead behind the psychiatric hospital; they say he shot himself," speculated Bárbara García Pino.
"The luck that he killed himself, as cowardly as he was. Rest in peace, Verónica. This is how the tough guys end up, who in the end are just bullies of women," stated Arasay Santiago.
