The Provincial Transport Company of Havana informed users this Wednesday that, due to the significant deterioration of the road El Usillo, in the Playa municipality, Route A97 will modify its route.

On their page on the social network Facebook, it was stated that the change -referring to a section of the road from Calle 100 to Puentes Grandes- will be in effect starting at 1:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 12, until conditions allow for the restoration of regular service.

He also announced the new itinerary for the segment:

Ida: Avenue 51 to 26th Street, then Boyeros and 100th Street, resuming its usual route.

Return: Street 100 to Boyeros, continuing along Street 26 and Avenue 51, to rejoin its established route.

The company urged drivers to take extra precautions while traveling on these roads, with the aim of preventing accidents.

In January, the Minister of Transportation of Cuba, Eduardo Rodríguez Dávila, acknowledged the accumulated deterioration of the road infrastructure in the country, emphasizing that this issue "takes its toll" not only in material terms but also in the increase of accidents and their consequences.

He explained that the condition of the roads is a factor that, although difficult to measure precisely, directly impacts accidents and vehicle wear.

"The poor condition of many of our roads directly contributes to accidents and the deterioration of vehicles," he stated.

The minister detailed that, although highways and main roads receive more attention, the condition of peripheral roads remains concerning.
