A man in Miami was arrested for hitting and sexually assaulting his wife, the mother of their four children, who was also pregnant at the time of the attack.

Manuel José Amaro, 31 years old and a practitioner of Santería, turned himself in to the authorities and claimed he acted that way because his "saints" revealed to him that the woman he had been with for 10 years had been unfaithful.

The incident occurred on the morning of January 22nd outside the family home. After an argument, Amaro struck the victim in the face with his fist while holding his seven-month-old baby. He dragged her by the hair and forced her to get into his vehicle, threatening her with an assault rifle. As a warning, he fired a shot.

Once in the car, he continued to hit her while driving, which caused injuries to the woman's face. He first said he would take her to her mother's house, but then returned to their home, where he sexually assaulted her, telling her that "this was what they needed."

Afterward, Amaro hit her in the abdomen and stated that he "knew how to get rid of a baby." The woman, who was nine weeks pregnant, began to bleed from her vagina and experienced abdominal pain.

According to the police report, which was accessed by Telemundo 51, the aggressor decided to turn himself in to the police days later. He was arrested this week, charged with multiple offenses, including kidnapping with a firearm, aggravated assault against a pregnant victim, sexual assault, and illegal use of a firearm in a municipal area.

The rapist is in TGK jail awaiting the hearing to set bail.
