The incident occurred in broad daylight, recently, on the road connecting the city of Artemisa with the town of Lincoln, located just 5 km from the municipal center.

The victim, identified as Iliana Domínguez, was riding a scooter with her husband when they were suddenly intercepted on the road by two men with covered faces.

"They threw us to the ground, and both of them fell on top of my husband to immobilize him and take the scooter. In the midst of the struggle and my screams, a person who was cutting grass nearby ran to help us," she recounted to the Cuban Institute for Freedom of Expression and the Press (ICLEP).
