"The president Trump is taking measures against the Houthis to defend U.S. maritime assets and deter terrorist threats. For too long, U.S. economic and national threats have been targeted by the Houthis. Not under this presidency," wrote the White House alongside the photos."

This Saturday, Trump launched attacks against in response to the terrorist group's assaults on maritime transport in the Red Sea.

"Today, I have ordered the United States Armed Forces to launch a decisive and powerful military action against the Houthi terrorists in Yemen," Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social announcing the attacks.

In his opinion, the Houthis "have waged an unrelenting campaign of piracy, violence, and terrorism against American and other countries' ships, planes, and drones." He also threatened to unleash "hell" if the attacks did not stop and warned Iran that it would be held responsible for its support of the rebels.

"Your attacks must cease, starting today. If they do not, hell will rain upon you like nothing you have ever seen before," he declared.

The agency AP, based on statements from the spokesman for the health ministry led by the Houthis, reported that at least 13 individuals have died. In a statement on social media, they noted that another nine were injured.

The Houthis promised reprisals, stating that "Sana'a will continue to be the shield and support of Gaza and will not abandon it," referring to the conflict between Israel and Hamas.

The attack occurs days after the group announced it would resume its actions against Israeli vessels in response to the blockade of Gaza.

Since 2023, they have launched missiles and drones against more than 100 vessels, sinking two ships and resulting in the death of four sailors.

The U.S. offensive was carried out exclusively by the U.S. Army, without the participation of Israel or the United Kingdom, according to the AP agency.

In the operation, vessels from the USS Harry S. Truman fleet, which is operating in the Red Sea, and the missile submarine USS Georgia were involved.
