The Cuban actor explained that he tried to mediate in a discussion at a restaurant and denied having pushed anyone or refusing to pay. "In the end, the one who ended up handcuffed was me," he said.

The Cuban actor William Levy made his first statements this Tuesday after posting bail and being released, following his involvement in an altercation at a restaurant in Weston, Florida.

According to what can be seen in the video shared by Univisión journalist Javier Díaz on social media, William Levy described the incident as a "setback" that was misunderstood.

William Levy explained that he was peacefully sharing when, unexpectedly, a discussion arose among others present. Noticing the tension, he decided to intervene to calm the situation and prevent the conflict from escalating.

Levy stated that he tried to defuse the conflict, but ultimately it was he who was arrested: "Well, in the end, it was me who ended up handcuffed. It was an unfortunate setback."

When asked if he had pushed a restaurant employee, he firmly denied: “No, no, no, no. I was always aware of holding back. I mean, to prevent the situation from escalating.”
