In the midst of the economic downturn faced by Cubans, some individuals rise above this calamity and offer gestures of solidarity that touch the heart and restore hope.

This is the story of a young barber from Sancti Spíritus who has decided to offer his services to those who need it most, asking for nothing in return.

Through the Facebook group Revolico Sancti Spíritus, a user identified as Ale Barber posted a message this Monday announcing that he will be offering free haircuts to sick individuals, those bedridden, or admitted to hospitals.

"Good morning everyone, and with the administrator's permission... I am a barber and will be available starting tomorrow to provide haircuts for all those sick and bedridden individuals who cannot go to a barber, and I can also go to the hospital to do so," he wrote.

The young man clarified that he is not seeking any kind of compensation and that his only motivation is to help.

“OJO: With no interest whatsoever, it's purely from the heart and meant to help those in need... Thank you very much,” he concluded.

His gesture was widely praised on social media by users who highlighted his attitude as an example of empathy amid a reality marked by scarcity and institutional neglect.

Among the messages of support, Yainerys Escalona Gómez expressed: “Glory to God, my friend. May God and all that you have always bless you. I have always known that you have a good heart.”

For his part, Idariel Martínez remarked with admiration: "In my life, I have never seen this. What kind of heart do you have, my brother? My greetings and respect to you. And may God bless you forever."

"Before you, I take off my hat. There are still human beings with good hearts. Gestures like that are worthy of admiration. My respects to you and to all those who give their all without asking for anything in return," said Iraida Varela Marín, who praised the gesture of the young barber.

For her part, Vilma Pérez emphasized: “Blessings, Ale, you never change, my child, always with your good heart. Keep it up, you're on the right track.”

In different corners of Cuba, gestures of solidarity have emerged in response to the difficult reality faced by many vulnerable individuals.

For example, in Ciego de Ávila, a man was moved upon seeing two children selling guavas to help their mother and decided to buy their entire load, to then give it back to them as a gift.

The event also included food and the promise of future assistance, becoming an expression of empathy that encouraged others to contribute.

Similar stories are repeated in other areas, such as in Camagüey, where the community came together to support Roelbis, a boy who sold tamales on a bicycle to help his grandmother.

The initiative arose from a social media post that mobilized neighbors and activists to ensure that the child could enjoy his childhood without having to work on the streets.

The Cuban youth has also played a prominent role in these displays of social commitment. In Santiago de Cuba, several young people organized to deliver snacks to homeless individuals, motivated by a desire to contribute from a place of humility and moved by the challenging circumstances faced by many elderly people on the streets.
