A Cuban migrant successfully escaped after being caught stealing at a Chedraui supermarket in the city of Tapachula, in the southern state of Chiapas, Mexico.
On Friday, the Cuban, who entered the establishment accompanied by a woman, was caught on camera stealing products from the store, local media outlet Diario del Sur reported.
Upon exiting, the Cuban was confronted by the private security of the establishment and, after a struggle, managed to escape before the arrival of the municipal police.
The report does not clarify the reason why the individual was identified as Cuban. Furthermore, neither the identity of the migrant nor the nature of the products he attempted to steal has been disclosed.
Authorities are unaware of the thief's whereabouts, the report adds.
