While many children and teenagers enjoy summer through games and social media, a group of young people from South Florida is preparing to face the business world early on.

This refers to the participants of the summer camp "Tech Entrepreneurship Biz Camp," a nonprofit initiative that provides intensive business training free of charge to students from sixth to twelfth grade at various campuses of Miami Dade College.

This year, the program will begin on June 16 and will run until July 25, providing attendees not only with essential knowledge on entrepreneurship, personal finance, and marketing, but also with a financial incentive of $300 to help them develop their own business idea.

A total of 200 students will be admitted and guided by industry experts and guest mentors in a transformative experience that has resulted in truly inspiring stories.

A school of life, not just of business

For six weeks, from Monday to Thursday, with full days running from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, the young participants immerse themselves in a world of financial concepts, leadership, product design, sales strategies, and project presentations.

"Every day is different, and at the same time, they are learning about financial education," explained Víctor Martínez, director of the program for Miami-Dade County, to Telemundo 51.

The camp not only provides technical knowledge. It also nurtures essential skills such as teamwork, resilience, effective communication, and self-confidence.

The methodology is designed for students not only to dream of starting a business but to understand how to make it a reality from scratch.

The report shared the story of Evelyn Guerrero, who at just 13 years old is already the founder and manager of her own company: Evelyn's Recycling Sparkle Bins, a cleaning service for trash cans that uses eco-friendly products.

"The experience was very enjoyable. I learned how to manage my finances and how to plan my business," he revealed to Telemundo 51.

Open opportunity for the future

For interested parents, enrollment applications are now open through the official website of the organization: nfte.com.

No prior knowledge or payment is required. What is needed is motivation, curiosity, and a desire to learn.

In a country where the entrepreneurial spirit is valued but often inaccessible to low-income youth, initiatives like this make a difference.

They not only open doors, but also plant the seeds for a future where success can be built early on, through effort, creativity, and a bit of guidance.
