A man was arrested by the police after attacking a passerby with a knife and machete in Holguín in an attempt to steal a chain.
“Fidel Díaz Fariñas, in the middle of Agramonte Street, at the corner of Narciso López, acted tough with a machete and knife in hand, trying to take a chain from a man passing by,” reported this Saturday on Facebook, Cazador Cazado, a profile associated with the Cuban regime.
"He ended up getting aggressive without any serious consequences, but the police quickly put him in his place and ended up caught. And with the array of offenses he already has, I'm sure he won't have it easy, messing with him," reads this instructive post from the profile used by the Cuban police to report incidents.

The rising wave of street violence, coupled with the lack of an effective response from the authorities, creates an increasing sense of insecurity among citizens that the regime is trying to counteract through these publications.
On April 30, two tourists were attacked in Old Havana. They were young Russians who had arrived in Cuba with the intention of enjoying a 12-day stay in Varadero.
However, while they were enjoying a walk through the streets of Old Havana, two thieves repeatedly attacked them and managed to steal one of their wallets, which contained cash, personal documents, and her passport.
A few days earlier, a tourist was the victim of a violent robbery in broad daylight on Aguiar Street, between Amargura and Teniente Rey, in the heart of Old Havana. One of the assailants left a sneaker at the scene.
The incident occurred in broad daylight and was witnessed by neighbors, who recounted the events with indignation and frustration at the lack of police response.
