The political prisoner Dixán Gaínza Moré remains in a punishment cell and is said to have started a hunger strike in Kilo 8 prison, in Camagüey.
According to the report from Cubalex, last Thursday Gaínza Moré “was threatened with a disciplinary measure by officer Primelles, simply for greeting another political prisoner.”
"In response, they expressed themselves peacefully by shouting: 'Homeland and Life,' 'Down with Díaz-Canel,' and 'Down with communism,'" the information specifies.
For this reason, the prisoner of conscience was transferred to a punishment cell for 15 days and began a hunger strike in protest against the imposed sanction.

"The officer Primelles, already noted for reprisals and assaults against other inmates, is known for repressing those who report abuses within the prison. Dixan has been a victim of these reprisals for exposing the violence that occurs in prison," the report adds.
The family of Gaínza Moré, 38 years old, has demanded proof of life from his captors.
"His family has no news about his health status. Dixan is hypertensive and is not receiving medical attention or the necessary medications to manage his condition, which puts his life in serious danger," the information concludes.
Gaínza Moré, a member of the opposition group Cuban Patriotic Union (UNPACU), was sentenced to six years in prison for protesting in El Cristo park, in the center of the city of Camaguey, during the social uprising of July 11, 2021.
In recent years, there have been constant violations against him, which led him to hold several hunger strikes as a form of protest.
