"Just a few days ago, the name of Dr. Enrique Sanabria once again echoed through the streets of Cárdenas and Lagunillas like a blessing. I then wrote a chronicle with the respect and admiration his story deserves, unaware that it would be my farewell without knowing it. Born on May 18, 1927, in Lagunillas, Enrique Sanabria graduated as a doctor and specialized in Cardiology.

According to the local press a few years ago, he traveled every day to go to school. Later, he moved to the capital and enrolled in his degree, which he completed in 1957. From 1959, he worked at the Cárdenas Hospital until his retirement in 2008.

The Provincial Health Directorate of Villa Clara paid tribute to the distinguished specialist, whom they described as “an exceptional doctor, an admirable human being, and a fundamental pillar” of the main hospital center in the province.
