In another incident that occurred on January 2, 2025, a passenger bus overturned on the bridge known as El Francés, on the road connecting Camagüey to Santa Cruz del Sur. In the accident, one person died and 63 were injured, including 13 minors.

Days prior, on December 23, 2024, a truck fell from about ten meters high while crossing a bridge in the municipality of Florencia, in the province of Ciego de Ávila. The incident resulted in the death of a young Cuban woman and left 11 injured, including three minors.
