A truck with a container went off the road and fell into a ditch on a highway in the city of Bayamo this Wednesday, with no injuries reported, according to preliminary reports.
The accident occurred on the Santiago bypass, near the EIDE (School of Sports Initiation) in Bayamo, in the province of Granma, according to a post by Osmani Grimón Báez in the Facebook group “ACCIDENTS BUSES & TRUCKS for more experience and fewer victims!”.

The photographs accompanying the post show the truck overturned on its side after they managed to pull it out of the ditch.
But earlier, user Dayron Silvera captured in a video the vehicle that had fallen into the ditch, with several ropes tied to the rear, which they presumably used to try to pull it out of the trench.
Until now, the causes of the accident are unknown; it is also unclear what the cargo the truck was carrying contained. One person stated that the vehicle is from the province of Camagüey.
Another internet user commented in the group that this Thursday a truck also fell in that location, information that has not been confirmed.
These traffic accidents may be linked to driver fatigue, mechanical failures of vehicles, or poor road conditions.
The day before, it was reported that a truck loaded with cement overturned on the first ring road of Havana, in front of the area known as El Repollo.
Presumably, the driver of the vehicle had fallen asleep at the wheel, but he emerged unscathed despite the impact and the heavy load he was carrying.
In the early hours of Sunday, two people lost their lives in a traffic accident that took place at the Cojímar roundabout in Havana. A third individual was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.
Between January and April of this year, 2,377 traffic accidents were recorded, a decrease of 150 incidents compared to the same period in 2024. However, the accidents were more fatal: deaths increased, even though the number of injuries also declined.
