New details have emerged about the disappearance of a Cuban professional driver, whose search has left family members, friends, and a community mobilized through social media on edge since Thursday, June 19.

Although it was initially reported that the man was traveling in a Peugeot 301 sedan, license plate T026091, from Ranchuelo (Villa Clara) to Matanzas, now acquaintances have revealed more personal information about him and have made an urgent appeal for citizen collaboration.

The missing person, identified as Fidelito, is not a taxi driver, as it was initially assumed. He works for Transgaviota Centro, a state-owned transportation company linked to tourism, and resides in Caibarién, where he lives with his pregnant wife.

His father, also a founding driver of the same organization, has dedicated decades to service, and both are known for their nobility and commitment to honest work, said the user Adriana Rodríguez on Facebook.

“My friend Fidelito is not a taxi driver. He lives in Caibarién with his pregnant wife. His father is also a driver for Transgaviota. They are incredible human beings. Noble. Hardworking. They do not deserve this silence,” Rodríguez stated.

According to the initial reports shared on Facebook, the last recorded location through phone tracking and ETECSA data placed the vehicle in the municipality of Palmira, Cienfuegos, an intermediate area on its route to Matanzas. Since then, there has been no further information about it.

The uncertainty has provoked a strong social reaction. Dozens of users have shared posts in community groups and have circulated the number +53 52816709 to receive any information that might help find him.

“The criminals involved do not live in another galaxy. They have family. They are someone’s neighbors. You, as a family member or neighbor, know that what they are doing is wrong. No one has the right to steal or harm another human being for money. We are waiting for you. Help that baby meet their dad,” Rodríguez added.

The case adds to other recent disappearances that have occurred during interprovincial trips, in a context characterized by the deterioration of road safety, an increase in crime, and a lack of surveillance in key areas of the country.

So far, authorities have not issued an official report regarding this disappearance, which intensifies the anguish of Fidelito's loved ones and fuels the public's call to share tirelessly, in the hope that he will be found alive.
