The President of the United States, Donald Trump, claimed on Friday that he saved the life of Iran's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, by refusing to disclose his whereabouts to Israel during the recent military conflict in the Middle East.

The leader had announced after the start of the attacks that he knew where Jamenei was hiding; and now he asserts that despite that, he decided to avoid a deadly attack against him by the U.S. armed forces and the Israeli army, which he described as the most powerful in the world.

"I saved him from a horrible and ignominious death, and he doesn't have to say 'THANK YOU, PRESIDENT TRUMP!'" he wrote on his Truth Social network with irony.

Trump detailed that in what he described as "the final act of the war," he ordered the return of a large group of Israeli planes heading to Tehran, in what would have been "the largest attack of the war," which, according to him, would have caused "tremendous damage and many Iranian deaths," cited the agency EFE.

“[Iran] was devastated, its three wicked nuclear facilities were destroyed,” the president stated while discussing the effects of the recent conflict, even though analysts and the major media outlets in the country claimed that the attacks last Saturday would have only delayed the Iranian nuclear program by a few months.

The leader also lashed out at the Iranian supreme leader for "falsely" claiming a victory over Israel. “As a man of great faith, he should not lie,” he remarked, questioning the legitimacy of Tehran's statements following the ceasefire.

Trump also urged Iran to "return to the world order" and change the course of its policy, warning that the country faces a bleak future if it continues down the same path.

“They are always so angry, hostile, and unhappy... and look at what it has brought them: a burned and destroyed country, with no future, a depleted army, a horrible economy, and DEATH surrounding them,” he declared.

On Friday, Trump also stated that he does not rule out the possibility of once again targeting Iran's nuclear facilities if he receives credible intelligence reports confirming new uranium enrichment to "concerning levels."

These statements come days after the cessation of hostilities between Israel and Iran following an unprecedented escalation of airstrikes and cyber sabotage that exposed military and economic vulnerabilities on both sides.

Although no official response has yet been issued by the Iranian government, Trump's claims could create additional diplomatic tensions at a delicate time for regional stability.
