The organization Bienestar Animal Cuba (BAC-Habana) announced the start of an independent investigation after receiving a growing number of negative testimonies related to the treatment of animals at the private veterinary clinic Mascolive, located in Havana.

In a message posted on their social media, BAC clarified that this is not an immediate public complaint, but rather the beginning of a responsible information gathering process, both negative and positive, that will result in a formal report.

"We are no longer talking about an isolated case or a specific mistake that any doctor or veterinarian could make. There are dozens of comments, testimonies, and negative experiences that have been reported to us," explained the organization.

The association made it clear that its only priority is the animals, and that they are willing to "stand up and face whatever it takes" if the evidence demands it.

According to reports, they do not aim to target individuals or public figures, but rather to address the volume of citizen concerns they have received in recent weeks.

"Our association is not here to be liked by anyone. Neither by doctors, nor by humans, nor by public figures. Our priority, unique and absolute, is the animals," they emphasized.

BAC assured that the report will be delivered directly to those in charge of the clinic, respectfully but firmly.

If this is ignored or the organization receives evasive or dismissive responses, they will take other actions.

"We do not threaten: we act. This time we will not turn a blind eye. It's time to stop silencing what so many are shouting," concluded the statement.

The Mascolive clinic, which is officially a micro, small, and medium-sized enterprise approved by the Cuban regime, has not made any public comments on its social media so far.

Meanwhile, BAC has invited citizens to share their testimonies and experiences privately as part of the documentation process.

In Cuba, where public veterinary services are limited and often inadequate, private clinics have become a common alternative, though they are also subject to criticism for high prices, questionable diagnoses, or dubious practices.

Therefore, the ethical oversight carried out by independent organizations like BAC-Habana is crucial in a country where animal rights still lack robust mechanisms for protection and effective supervision.

Several users have started to share their personal experiences following the announcement of an independent investigation by BAC-Habana into the Mascolive veterinary clinic.

The testimonies agree in highlighting patterns of negligence, questionable diagnoses, excessive prices, and a noticeable lack of preparation among the medical staff.

Cases like that of Dayita Escobar, who claims to have lost her healthy six-month-old puppy due to the "lack of knowledge" of the clinical team, or that of Karen Rodríguez, who paid thousands of pesos only to lose her dog after inadequate care, reflect a deep mistrust in the service provided by this center.

“Thousands are charged for unnecessary treatments, and when a technician tries to correct them, they are fired,” denounced Enmanuel Rodríguez, while Omar Negrón stated that his little dog almost died due to an incorrect diagnosis, until he decided to change veterinarians and she recovered in just three days.

Others like Yarelin Ramos and Rache Rache point out that Mascolive profits from the feelings of the owners, prescribing "unnecessary" tests and medications, while the animals end up dying without receiving the proper care.

Although not all testimonies can be immediately verified, the volume, the consistency in the accounts, and the emotional weight of those writing, reinforce the need for an ethical and technical review of this clinic's operations.
