A serious traffic accident occurred on the evening of this Wednesday on the Vía Blanca, near the flashing traffic light in Alamar, municipality of Habana del Este.
The collision involved two vehicles: a taxi that ended up overturned and a rental car that suffered severe front-end damage, according to reports on social media accompanied by shocking images.

So far, there has been no official information regarding the status of the occupants, although numerous reports agree that only material losses were recorded, despite the shocking images.
According to eyewitnesses, the traffic light at the intersection was out due to a power outage, a situation that is becoming increasingly common in the country and has raised concern among the population.
This factor has sparked a flood of citizen opinions on social media, many of which point to a lack of traffic regulation by the authorities.
"Wherever there is a traffic light out, there should be a patrol officer regulating traffic, but there aren’t any. And when they are present, they are absorbed in their phones," commented an outraged internet user.
Others, however, emphasized that the primary responsibility lies with the drivers, who must take extra precautions when faced with non-functioning or flashing traffic lights.
"When there's no light, drivers must slow down, respect right of way, and be more vigilant than ever. Many do not do this," wrote another user.
The comments reveal widespread frustration over the poor condition of Cuba's road system and the growing perception of impunity regarding violations of the Traffic Code. The habitual absence of traffic agents at dangerous intersections, such as Alamar, was also noted, despite the proximity of a control point.
Some users emphasized the need for better road education, reminding that in the absence of light signals, basic priority rules should be followed.
Others lamented that amid so much debate, few inquired about the health or the fate of the individuals involved in the incident.
As of the closure of this report, no further details have emerged regarding the circumstances of the incident.
Accidents show no mercy in Cuba.
The accident in Alamar occurred on the same day that three people died after a collision between a Russian Volga and a trailer at Kilometer 14 on the National Highway, witnesses of the event reported on social media.
