Cuban arrested for drug dealing in Tapachula, Mexico

The Cuban Maels “N” was arrested on Thursday in the city of Tapachula, in the Mexican state of Chiapas, accused of drug trafficking after drugs were found in his belongings.

According to Diario del Sur, alongside the Cuban, Heberto “N”, a Mexican, was also arrested on one of the main streets in the Nuevo Mundo 3 neighborhood, in the southeast of that border city in southern Mexico, which is a migrant hotspot where a significant group of migrants from the island have settled.

The detained individuals were found in possession of 13 nylon bags containing a transparent substance, with characteristics similar to the drug known as crystal.

The Cuban and the Mexican, two slender men, one wearing a striped shirt and the other in a light blue t-shirt, were spotted by a K9 unit of the Municipal Police of Tapachula during a preventive patrol.

Both will face charges for crimes against health in their commercial aspect.

A year ago, three Cuban citizens were arrested and charged with drug trafficking during an operation conducted by the police of the Mexican state of Hidalgo in the municipality of Mineral de Reforma.

In that same locality, a woman and a man of Cuban origin were arrested after the police conducted an operation in several nightclubs in Tizayuca.
