A traffic accident that occurred this Thursday at the Téneme curve in the province of Holguín left several injured, including a woman in serious condition and two minors.

According to a report by the official communicator Emilio Rodríguez Pupo on Facebook, the incident occurred on the Mayarí–Moa road, between Cabonico and the municipality of Frank País, and involved a private vehicle carrying seven passengers.

Some injured individuals are being treated at the Mayarí Hospital, where emergency protocols have been activated, while others have been transferred to other medical centers.

Among the injured is Annia Inojosa Leyva, a resident of Moa, who has been reported in serious condition with a pelvic fracture and head trauma.

Fela Elisa Martínez Romero, a 10-year-old girl from Bayamo, and Nanda Lorena Fonseca Martínez, a 16-year-old girl also from Moa, were also injured.

The highest authorities of the municipality arrived at the health center and are staying with the medical staff caring for the patients.

Witnesses of the event shared images from the moment of the rescue and highlighted the supportive actions of those who stopped to assist the injured.

Meanwhile, experts from the Ministry of the Interior are investigating the causes of the accident.

The danger posed by this route has raised concerns over the past few months.

In mid-July, another tragedy in Mayarí left seven injured after a truck overturned on a wet road, and in June, five young people were also injured, four of them in serious condition, when a vehicle went off the road on the descent at Yaya Uno.

In addition to the incidents reported in Holguín, road safety issues have spread to other provinces.

This Wednesday, a cyclist lost his life after being hit on the national highway.
