The spokesperson for the United States Department of State, Amanda Roberson, revealed the procedure that can be followed to provide information leading to the arrest of Nicolás Maduro, the leader of the Venezuelan regime, for whom Washington has increased a reward to 50 million dollars.

In an interview with the program "La Noche" on NTN24, Roberson stated that this measure is "the latest in a series of actions" aimed at stopping what he described as the narcoterrorism of the Cartel de los Soles, led by Maduro.

“Decades ago, Maduro has been leading the Cartel de los Soles, facilitating the transport of drugs to the United States. This poses a clear threat to our national security, so we are employing all necessary measures to stop it,” he stated.

The official explained that anyone with information that could help capture Maduro can contact U.S. authorities through the official DEA portal (https://www.dea.gov/submit-tip).

Likewise, by calling the number +1-202-307-4228.

"You can speak with us in Spanish without any problem. The reward program guarantees the confidentiality of any informant," Roberson emphasized.

Roberson recalled that Maduro faces federal charges in the U.S. for drug trafficking and terrorism, with evidence linking him to the systematic shipment of tons of cocaine and other drugs to U.S. territory, as well as alliances with criminal organizations such as FARC, the Tren de Aragua, and the Sinaloa Cartel.

"We know the harm he has caused to the people of Venezuela by acting as a dictator. The consequences of his actions will be very serious,” he warned.

The doubling of the reward, announced a day earlier by Attorney General Pam Bondi, also responds to Washington's rejection of Maduro's reelection in 2024, which is regarded as fraudulent. The U.S. and several countries in the hemisphere have recognized opposition figure Edmundo González as the elected president.

"Under the current leadership, Nicolás Maduro will not escape justice. He will be held accountable for his atrocious crimes," Bondi stated.
