The authorities in Miami-Dade continue the search for Alfredo Carballo González, 32, and Ariely Álvarez Cabrera, 27, a Cuban couple identified as suspects in the homicide of Daylon Fleitas González, a 37-year-old compatriot whose body was found on August 9 near the Everglades.

The police have warned that both individuals, originally from San Antonio de los Baños, are on the run along with their five-month-old baby, who may be in danger, reported Univisión journalist Javier Díaz on his Facebook page.

Authorities have released photographs of the minor and the couple and have warned that they should be considered "armed and dangerous."

Post from the Miami Dade Sheriff’s Office on Facebook

Fleitas had been reported as missing on August 3 in Hialeah, after informing his brother that he would go to collect some money that was owed to him. He never returned.

His truck —a black 2011 Ford F-150, license plate RPQW74— was found abandoned among bushes in the southwest of the county, not far from where his body was later discovered.

This Friday, the channel Noticias 23 from Univisión obtained an exclusive video showing the moment when Fleitas González is allegedly stabbed in a truck parking lot in Medley.

According to an internal document from the Miami-Dade Sheriff, on August 3, the victim arrived at the intersection of Northwest 95th Avenue and 106th Street to meet Carballo and collect a loan of $10,000.

The images obtained by the news channel show Carballo approaching Fleitas González's truck, and seconds later dragging him along the ground.

The report indicates that the suspect placed the body in a recycling bin, put it in the back of the truck, and drove away while being followed by another vehicle, presumably carrying the woman and the baby.

The Hialeah police issued a missing persons report on August 7, and the following day, Fleitas' truck was found in the area of Southwest 210th Street and 203rd Avenue, with blood stains and a backpack containing evidence.

The body was found on August 9 inside the container in a wooded area nearby, with multiple stab wounds, according to the Miami-Dade medical examiner's office.

The mother of the victim told Díaz that the authorities are making progress in the investigation.

Although the police have not officially confirmed the link between the debt the victim was trying to collect and the suspected couple, the case is being investigated by the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Homicide Unit, which is asking for the community's assistance in locating the fugitives and, above all, ensuring the safety of the baby.

Díaz stated that the family of the fugitive couple in San Antonio de Los Baños is devastated by the news.
