A young Cuban mother, 26 years old, has passed away this Saturday after spending three months in a vegetative state due to respiratory failure that occurred during her most recent childbirth.

According to communicated by the Guantanamo activist Ernesto Pérez Rodríguez, Lisandra Maceo García, mother of two children, died after remaining in a vegetative state for several months due to complications suffered after giving birth.

At 21 days after giving birth to her baby, Lisandra suffered a respiratory arrest for 35 minutes which caused irreversible damage to her brain.
