Letty, a Cuban residing in the United States and known on TikTok as @itsletty8, has gone viral by sharing in a video how her life changed after moving from Miami to Cape Coral, a city that, according to her, gave her back the calm and peace she desperately needed.

“I left Miami and the place where I live is super serene, without rush, where time seems to stretch to enjoy the day more”, Letty recounts, while showcasing scenes from her neighborhood: tranquil canals, houses with well-kept gardens, watercolor-worthy sunsets, and streets where driving is a pleasure.

“You have the freedom to be yourself without the constant race to put on a façade,” he asserts with conviction.

The post generated an avalanche of comments. Many applauded her decision and shared similar experiences after leaving Miami, celebrating the tranquility of less chaotic cities. Others, however, questioned her perspective and claimed she was idealizing Cape Coral. Some labeled it as "boring," said that "there are no jobs," or that "it's not what it used to be," and even joked that if she continues to promote it, it will soon become another Hialeah.

Letty, maintaining her composure and sense of humor, responded naturally to the criticisms. To those who said there are no job opportunities in Cape Coral, she replied, “If you know English, trust me, finding a job won’t be much of a problem!”

And when another user accused her of speaking poorly of Miami just because she had moved away, she responded with a phrase that sums up her outlook on life: “That’s why there are colors and different tastes! I love Cape. Miami is not for me.”

She even confessed that the change was so significant that it feels like she's starting from scratch: "Hey, I swear I feel just like I’ve just arrived from Cuba," she wrote in one of the comments.

Despite the criticisms, Letty stood her ground: she says she has a job, that she lives peacefully, and that, above all, she is happy. "Cape Coral is serenity painted with street numbers," she summarized.

Her testimony has rekindled the eternal debate between those who champion the vibrant and challenging rhythm of Miami and those who prefer a more serene life in other cities of Florida. For Letty, what matters is having found her place in the world. “You can breathe without hurry,” she affirms. And that, for her, is already enough.
