Expressions of pain multiplied.

The teacher Admarys Díaz, who taught Cristian in his childhood, shared a reflection filled with anguish.

"It hurts me; I saw him grow up, I taught him classes, and I will never know how to deal with this kind of loss. My son is almost his age, and I worry about every step he takes; he wants his bike, and I am still not ready. We must talk a lot with young people and not give up on the effort to educate them. What a sad event, and how I will miss that little one," she wrote.

Hundreds of people expressed their sorrow over the loss of someone so young, sending messages of condolences to the family and highlighting the joy and kindness that characterized the teenager.

A tragedy that adds to other recent accidents in Cuba

The pain that Santo Domingo is experiencing is interconnected with other similar tragedies that have occurred in the country in recent weeks.

In Guisa, Granma province, a teenager identified as Yanier died after being struck on the road.

According to witnesses, the responsible driver fled the scene, which caused great outrage among the neighbors. Later, the authorities confirmed that he was apprehended, although they did not provide details about his identity or the circumstances of the arrest.

On social media, user Esperanza from Guisa bid farewell with a message: "Fly high, this is how they say goodbye to Yanier, a young man from Guisa who lost his life in an accident on the road when a car struck him, causing fatal injuries. May this angel rest in peace."

Also this month, at kilometer 142 of the National Highway in Matanzas, another cyclist lost their life after being struck by a car while trying to cross from Jagüey Grande to Australia.

According to the official investigation, the responsibility fell on the cyclist, who did not stop at the designated signal.

A never-ending problem

These incidents are part of the long list of traffic accidents that each year bring grief to Cuban families.

Authorities emphasize the importance of complying with Law 109 (Traffic Safety Code), warning that many of these tragedies could be prevented with greater responsibility on the road.

Meanwhile, in Villa Clara, the memory of Cristian will remain with his loved ones as that of a cheerful boy, passionate about bicycles, with a whole life ahead of him that was tragically cut short too soon.
