A citizen was rescued alive this Thursday in Holguín after falling into a well, thanks to the quick intervention of the Rescue and Salvage Technicians from Fire Command No. 25 of the Ministry of the Interior (MININT).

According to the information shared on social media by that organization, the firefighters acted swiftly in response to the emergency, and were able to extract the victim and ensure their safety in a short amount of time.

"They acted with impressive speed and admirable professionalism. There was no hesitation, only determined and trained action. Most importantly: they successfully carried out the rescue and brought the person out alive!" the announcement emphasized.

The event generated numerous expressions of gratitude towards the rescuers, regarded as true heroes for their dedication in high-risk situations.

The authorities did not provide details about the identity of the affected individual or their health status following the incident, although it was confirmed that they received immediate care after the rescue.

The firefighters of Command No. 25 have been recognized multiple times for their work in rescue cases.

In 2023, they rescued Fernando Herrera Ramírez, a 63-year-old worker, who fell into a well approximately 45 feet (15 meters) deep, in the area of Mícara, located in the Frank País municipality in Holguín.

Finally, he was rescued alive after more than 24 hours of efforts to get him out.

In July of last year, in Ciego de Ávila, the Rescue and Salvage team of the Fire Department rescued the dog Mía, after being trapped in a rather narrow well.
