The Cuban chef Ariel Patai has found the perfect place in the Canary Islands to blend his roots with Mediterranean cuisine, offering a culinary proposal that delights palates by the sea, in Fuerteventura.
Patai Beach Club is much more than a beach bar. It is a restaurant that pays tribute to traditional cuisine and local produce.
The Cuban believes that working with high-quality ingredients and supporting local producers is a way to express gratitude and enjoy the culinary richness of Spain.
She has turned her kitchen into a celebration of natural foods, prepared using traditional cooking methods. Her specialty is rice dishes, and she created her own paella recipe, inspired by the classic Valencian version, but with a personal touch that is already starting to gain fame on the island.
In addition to his culinary focus, Ariel Patai has incorporated a distinctive element into his culinary project by prioritizing the relationship between food and health.
The chef confessed that his interest in this subject began after the cancer diagnosis of his recently deceased mother. “It was very difficult for us to find a place where she could eat healthy, with real options for her diet,” he recalls.
Since then, their kitchen has also considered those who suffer from a medical condition or need a special menu. “If a customer tells us they have a condition, we adapt the menu and prepare something they can enjoy without worries,” they add.
The Patai Beach Club has gained recognition not only among tourists visiting Fuerteventura but also among the island's residents, who are increasingly drawn to discover the authentic flavor presented by this Cuban chef, who champions a fusion of culinary tradition, health, and commitment to the land that welcomes him.
