A Cuban woman who benefited from the I-220A immigration process shared on social media her excitement about having purchased her first house in the United States with her husband.

"My husband and I are I-220A and we bought our first little house, without fear of success today and without thinking about the past, present, and the future—whatever happens, will happen. Live day by day, don’t get too stressed about things, look, enjoy all of this that is beautiful, you won’t lose anything. Oh my God! I don’t understand anything, I don’t understand anything. Blessings," said the woman in a video shared on TikTok.

In the images, recorded in front of her newly acquired home, the Cuban expresses, amid tears and laughter, a mixture of surprise and gratitude for this achievement that she claims to have reached through hard work.

The I-220A program is an administrative measure that the United States government grants to some Cuban migrants in an irregular situation while they await a determination of their legal status.

Although it does not constitute a permanent residence, it has allowed thousands of islanders to settle in the North American country and seek new opportunities.

The video, which quickly garnered supportive comments, reflects the hopes of many Cubans who dream of thriving after starting a new life in the United States.
