“They seized a significant amount of illegal fish in Pilón, which they were transporting in a state truck to the province of Santiago de Cuba,” reported on Facebook the profile associated with the official narrative Entérate con Aytana Alama.

The police confiscated the cargo from three citizens in a public area in Marea del Portillo, in Pilón, the information specifies.

The detainees were attempting to transport the fish in a state truck "belonging to the province of Santiago de Cuba," they comment.

"They took a great risk, even knowing that the members of MININT maintain a constant effort against crime and illegal activities. This was the comment made by a user who was surprised by the entire load that this driver was carrying," the information adds, without providing further details.

News of seizures is common on the island, where the State, unable to supply the markets, tries to project an image of fighting crime.

In February, the police in Santa Clara intercepted a truck loaded with goods without legal documentation, seizing a total of 404 sacks of rice, along with other products and cash.

In this seizure, agents found 404 bags of rice, 132 bags of pumpkin, and 187,000 CUP in cash, with the individuals involved unable to present contracts or documents justifying the origin of the products.

On that same date, the police intercepted a truck carrying 42,900 cartons of eggs without legal documentation as it was traveling along kilometer 141 of the National Highway, within the municipality of Jagüey Grande in Matanzas.
