Radio Reloj's iconic voice, announcer René Luis Romero Oramas, has passed away

The Cuban announcer René Luis Romero Oramas passed away this Wednesday in Havana, as confirmed by friends and colleagues from Radio Reloj, the station where he was one of its most distinctive voices and served as president of the Artistic Council.

According to the quoted source, Romero began his career at the age of 16 at the radio station in his home province of Matanzas, Radio 26. "After exploring other job options, he returned to broadcasting with Radio Reloj, where, for over 14 years, he was one of the main voices that accompanied the awakening of millions of Cubans through the stellar morning program."

Although they did not mention the cause of death, the news caused great sorrow among his colleagues in posts on social media, who mourned the event and remembered Romero Oramas as an upstanding professional passionate about radio.
