According to the note, forensic investigations are being conducted by the authorities to determine the responsibilities in the traffic incident.

"These regrettable and painful accidents are always caused by avoidable reasons," stated the publication, while making a "call to drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians to adhere to traffic laws to prevent the tears of families in Cienfuegos."

In the comments on the post, several people held the CIMEX driver accountable for the fatal incident, but this has not yet been confirmed by the authorities. It is unknown what type of vehicle was involved in the event.

Profound consternation has been caused by Muñoz's passing among his family, friends, and neighbors. Dozens of users expressed their sorrow over his tragic death, while those close to him described him as an excellent person, father, and worker.

According to various testimonies, Muñoz was the father of a seven-year-old boy.

“It is hard that a man so young, a good worker, a son, husband, and exemplary father has left due to a negligence; it is very hard to explain to a child that his father will not return and to a widow who no longer should wait for her husband at home, much less to a mother because, as my grandfather, may he rest in peace, told me, parents do not wait to bury their children but their children wait for them. It is hard for such a close family to lose someone important, how I feel for you Egmi, you did not deserve to end up like this, you had a life ahead of you and a family to take care of. Rest in peace,” were the heartfelt words of a young woman who knew the deceased.

Comments on the unfortunate incident criticized the negligence and indiscipline of many drivers while driving and the increase in traffic accidents for such reasons; they also pointed out the lack of street lighting and the poor condition of the roads as common causes of collisions in the country.

According to the latest official data on traffic accidents released by the government, from January to April this year, there were 2,377 incidents of this type in Cuba, which is 150 fewer than in the same months of 2024. However, the accidents were more deadly, as the number of fatalities increased, authorities reported.

Colonel Roberto Rodríguez Fernández, head of the Specialized Traffic Body of the General Directorate of the Revolutionary National Police, stated in May that human factors continue to be the main cause in 91% of accidents.
