Sandro Castro does it again: "Living in Apagonia is hurting you a lot."

Most Cubans survive amid blackouts, long lines, food shortages, and impossible prices, while the heirs of power enjoy privileges and have the luxury of ridiculing the national tragedy on social media.

The endless blackouts that have been plaguing Cuba for months have led to a new popular nickname for the island, the darkest inhabited place on Planet Earth: Apagonia.

A term that encapsulates the routine of darkness and fatigue experienced by millions of Cubans, while the ruler Miguel Díaz-Canel repeats unfulfilled promises of "energy recovery" and people remain in darkness in the midst of 2025.

Sandro Castro, grandson of the gray-haired dictator turned influencer of provocation, did not miss the chance to seize that meme and turn it into one of his usual grotesque reels.

In his latest post on Instagram, he appeared launching an absurd tirade against Magnolia, his new "transitional object," filled with references to thongs, whips, “tortilleras,” and pyromaniacs, ultimately concluding with a phrase that could be interpreted as another political jab at the leader of the “continuity”.

“Living in Apagonia is harming you”, Sandro told his alter ego Magnolia, a mindless hand that gropes the bodies of men and women, insatiable with lust and intoxication.

Let it be said by the grandson of the tyrant who established the rationing booklet in 1962, and let him repeat it in a country where power outages are a daily occurrence, this is an irony that needs no explanation.

Most Cubans survive amidst power outages, long lines, food shortages, and unaffordable prices, while the heirs of power enjoy privileges and have the audacity to mock the national tragedy on social media.

But Sandro did not stop there. He closed his video with a new reference to the ration book. "Let's go get the groceries", he told Magnolia before ending the video.

His statement comes hours after CiberCuba published the note about his parody of the ration book, transformed into “diary of a vampire”.

Coincidence or a covert response to the independent press? The provocation is laid bare, along with the impunity with which Sandro flaunts the Castro surname as a mark of mockery and ostentation.
