Mexican authorities are searching for the young Cuban Yudainis Cachima y Paz, 25 years old, who was reported missing in the city of Tapachula, Chiapas, since August 23.
According to information released by the Prosecutor's Office Against Forced Disappearance of Persons, the young woman was last seen after being invited to the beach by a man, and since then there has been no news of her whereabouts.
The Attorney General's Office issued an official search notice through the program Have you seen...?, which also includes the case of Saraith Neilyn Castañeda González, a 28-year-old Venezuelan citizen, who disappeared two days later in the same border city with Guatemala.
Both women are part of a concerning list of missing migrants in southern Mexico, along a route that many use to try to reach the United States.
The disappearances have occurred in a context of high vulnerability for migrant women, many of whom report harassment, violence, or extortion.
The family of Yudainis has requested the intervention of the Immigrant Prosecutor's Office and is asking for support from the Mexican authorities to locate her safe and sound. So far, no details have been provided regarding the progress of the investigation.
Human rights organizations have raised concerns about the increasing number of cases of migrant disappearances in Chiapas, particularly in areas such as Frontera Comalapa and Pijijiapan, where several cases have been reported in recent weeks.
Authorities have requested the collaboration of citizens. Any information can be communicated to the emergency number 911 in Mexico, in order to assist in locating the missing individuals.
