Brutal animal abuse reported in Cuba: A small child assaults a cat while adults watch

A new case of animal cruelty has sparked a wave of outrage in Cuba following the release of a video showing a child brutally attacking a cat while several adults look on without intervening.

The images, shared by the animal protection organization BAC-Habana on Facebook, have highlighted the serious issue of violence against animals in the country and the lack of an effective response from the authorities.

In the video, the child is seen holding the feline by the tail while a dog bites it by the neck. Both the child and the animal pull forcefully on the helpless cat, which meows in pain as it struggles to escape.

The most disturbing thing is that a man, whose voice can be heard in the recording, says with complete nonchalance: "the head is going to come off," without showing any intention of stopping the abuse.

Meanwhile, the child laughs, believing that what he is doing is right, as if the feline were a toy. "Let go," said the little one quite casually.

BAC-Habana accompanied the publication with a powerful message, denouncing not only the mistreatment itself but also the complicit passivity of the responsible adults.

"We have just received an outrageous and painful video. A child is seen brutally abusing a helpless kitten, even using a puppy as an instrument of violence, while parents and guardians, instead of intervening, watch the scene without lifting a finger," the organization expressed.

The group called for social awareness and warned about the impact of normalizing such acts at an early age.

"Enough already! There is no possible justification when such a heinous act is tolerated, especially when adults remain silent and endorse it with their silence. This is not just a simple game: it is animal abuse, it is violence, it is the seed of a society without values if allowed to grow unchecked," stated the group, which also demanded justice and the intervention of the relevant authorities.

The complaint did not stop there. This Monday, BAC-Habana published a second message in which they revealed the identities of the adults associated with the child, pointing out Francy San Miguel Pérez and Anaily Nani as the individuals responsible for allowing such behavior.

In the text, the organization announced that it will file a formal complaint at the national level and initiate legal action at the international level if those responsible do not publicly retract their statements by noon on Tuesday, September 30.

"Until tomorrow, Tuesday, September 30, at 12:00 noon, you have time to publicly retract that atrocity. If you do not do so, the international investigation will kick off at full speed outside of Cuba, directed at all the agencies we are in contact with. You will not be able to leave the country and will be flagged by every organization we work with," warned the organization, which also demanded that the cat be handed over to their custody immediately.

BAC-Habana has been emphatic that this case cannot go unpunished and represents a turning point in the fight against animal abuse on the island.

The publication has generated reactions, comments, and shares, with citizens demanding justice and exemplary punishment for those involved.

For many, the most concerning aspect is not just the suffering of the animal, but the environment in which a child grows up learning that violence is acceptable, without any correction or guidance.
