The heavy rainfall this weekend caused damage in the East of Cuba forced the suspension of railway services across the entire region.
"Due to significant damage to the railway lines, all train services are suspended until the issues caused by the heavy rains are resolved. We will keep our community informed," the Empresa Ferrocarriles de Oriente reported on Facebook this Monday.

However, the most painful chapter left by Imelda was the collapse of a house in Santiago de Cuba due to a landslide caused by heavy rain, during which a 60-year-old man lost his life while sleeping. The victim was identified as Luis Mario Pérez Coiterio.
