The situation escalated to the point that even an internet user, Yamilis Albizu, who identified herself as Rubiera's wife, intervened to stop the false news.
“This is the wife of Rubiera writing. Please, stop making things up! Get likes in a different way! Work beautifully!”, she wrote in one of the comments, outraged by the use of rumors to generate attention on social media.
Another denial came from the portal Suena Cuba, which shared an even more detailed update:
“The meteorologist José Rubiera is in perfect health, enjoying his retirement, and recently went on vacation with his wife in Varadero. He has not had any further complications since his heart attack a few years ago; he is active and fully recovered.
