One of the three workers injured in the explosion that occurred this Thursday at the Brisas del Mar Hotel in Caibarién, Villa Clara, is in critical condition, according to health authorities.

The injured were transferred to the burn unit of Arnaldo Milián Castro Hospital in Santa Clara, where they are receiving specialized care, confirmed the Cuban News Agency.

Dr. Yandry Alfonso Chang, director of medical assistance and medications at the Provincial Health Directorate, explained that Geovany Lugo Bacallao, 53 years old and a resident of Caibarién, suffered burns over 49.25% of his body and is reported to be in critical condition.

Another injured individual, Yoan Alonso Amado, 28 years old, a resident of the Sabino Pupo Agricultural Production Cooperative, has burns covering 25.25% of his body and his condition is very serious.

The third affected individual, Diego Martínez García, 38 years old and also a resident of Caibarién, has burns covering 7% of his body and is in a less serious condition.

The hospital's medical team is working tirelessly to stabilize the patients, and according to Alfonso Chang, the institution has the necessary resources for these types of injuries.

For his part, Nelson Águila Ravelo, provincial director of Housing and Gastronomy, stated that since the accident occurred, they have gone to the hospital to accompany the families and provide support during this difficult time.

The three injured individuals worked at the hotel: two of them were cooks and the other was the facility manager.
