The Cuban Doraiky Águila Vázquez has been missing since March 15, and her mother, Maura Vázquez, returned this week to plead for help on social media with several posts that capture the desperation of a family that refuses to give up.
In one of her messages shared on Facebook, the woman wrote: “My great fortune would be to find my daughter Doraiky Águila Vázquez, who has been missing from home since March 15. I urgently ask for help.” Her plea has spread across community groups and pages, where many users are calling for her case to not be forgotten.
In another post, Maura shared her faith and her anguish: “God, after searching for this day and not finding my beloved daughter, after her husband and uncle also searched intensely and found nothing, bless my daughter who has been away from home since March 15. Use all your strength so that the family can find her. Amen.”
The mother concluded her third message with a call for solidarity from the Cuban people: “Search and look into every house, every neighborhood, every province. It is a call to my people and to the authorities. It is about saving a life, a family, giving and bringing life to a human being, to their children, to their devastated parents. Urgent help.”
Doraiky was described as a woman with olive skin, gray hair, and hazel eyes, the mother of two children, and with a medical condition that requires urgent attention.
His family reports that more than seven months have passed without any answers or official updates regarding the investigation into his whereabouts.
The silence from Cuban authorities has heightened the desperation of relatives, who continue to share images and messages on social media.
Maura Vázquez reiterates that she will not give up, convinced that her faith and the solidarity of Cubans will be her only hope of embracing her daughter alive again.
Recently, Doraiky's family denied a rumor on social media claiming that the woman had been found deceased.
The false information was shared by the Facebook group "Noticia del Momento," managed by Yilian Arroyo, but was soon categorically denied by Damnielle Días Fernández, a relative of Doraiky.
