The Cuban culinary content creator @cocinando_con_aguaje once again demonstrates that creativity knows no bounds in Cuban cuisine.
In her latest video, she shares a perfect recipe to make the most of leftover food from the previous day, transforming it into a new and delicious dish: the "Croquetoides" de picadillo.
The idea is simple yet clever. Use the leftover picadillo from the meal to double the portions and surprise the family with a new flavor.
The cook explains that he first enhances the picadillo with more seasonings and then adds flour and hot broth, stirring continuously until the mixture pulls away from the pot.
Once ready, the mixture is allowed to cool, and the croquettes are formed, which are then coated in flour, beaten egg, and breadcrumbs before being fried until they are golden and crispy.
The result is a delicious croquette, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, that “solves” a snack or a meal. A recipe that reflects the essence of the Cuban spirit, making much with little, without sacrificing flavor or ingenuity.
