Two Cuban friends from Fomento, in Sancti Spíritus, have successfully opened their own business in Tenerife, Canary Islands, where they produce smoked meat products in the Cuban style.

His specialty is smoked leg ham, a flavor well-known on the island that is now also winning over the Canary Islanders and the Cuban community in Spain.

The story was revealed by content creator Roberlán Fariña (@roberlan.farina), who visited the deli and showcased how these entrepreneurs have brought traditional Cuban recipes into a new setting.

In their establishment, they prepare pork chops, chicken, leg ham, and the popular Viking ham, all made using the smoking techniques they learned on the island.

These friends reunited in Spain after having studied together in their hometown. They decided to join forces to create their own business, which has now become a shining example of resilience and entrepreneurship within the Cuban community abroad.

Their charcuterie showcases that Cubans do not just emigrate to survive, but also to innovate, work, and add value wherever they are, bringing with them the flavors and culture of their homeland.
