After eleven years living in the United States, a Cuban manicurist decided to leave behind her home, her business, and everything she had built to start a new life in Spain. The young woman, identified on TikTok as @digitalnailsclub, shared her story in a video that quickly went viral and sparked an intense debate about migration, fear, and the search for stability.

“I left the United States after 11 years. I gave up everything, left it all behind, and moved to Spain,” she shared in her post, recorded while showing footage of her moving process. In the video, she explained that she made the decision after receiving “the worst news of her life” on August 25, without offering details, although she made it clear that her immigration status was the main reason. In another clip posted on her alternate account @ThaliLifeStyle, she added: “I had to go to my immigration appointment after 11 years living in this country, and I have to leave everything and start from scratch. I was in the best moment of my life: I had bought my house and had started my business.”

The Cuban woman stated that her seven-year-old daughter was the most important reason for making the decision, along with the unconditional support of her husband, who — as she said — accompanied her throughout the process "without needing to do so." "Immigration matters are not very good in the United States, and that is no secret to anyone, so before anything happened to me, because above all I am a mother, I decided to leave everything behind and seek a different future," she explained.

Thalía shared that she traveled by car for five days from the United States to Mexico and from there flew to Spain, where she currently resides in Gran Canaria. The most surprising thing, she confessed, is that she had bought her house just six months before leaving. “I had everything ready: a new house, a new business, everything was going wonderfully,” she recalled. However, the uncertainty of her immigration status pushed her to make a radical decision. “Starting over has never been easy, but your peace of mind is priceless,” she affirmed.

Already settled in Spain, the Cuban says she feels happy, grateful, and confident that she chose the best path for her family. “Today, I start here from scratch, but I am not afraid,” she wrote in one of her posts, where she shares messages of resilience and thanks to those who support her in this new stage.

Her story has generated thousands of reactions. Some users questioned her for having lived in the United States for over a decade without obtaining residency, while others congratulated her for prioritizing her well-being and that of her daughter. Amid the criticism and support, Thalía assures that she has been able to maintain her income thanks to her work on social media.
