The Cuban regime announced a new round of internal debates within the Communist Party and its satellite organizations with the stated goal of “correcting distortions and revitalizing the economy.”

The process, which will take place from November 15 to December 30, will include meetings within the Party, the UJC, the CTC, the ANAP, the FEU, and other power-related structures, reported the state-run newspaper Granma.

The call comes in a context of chronic economic crisis, runaway inflation, and production collapse, which the government tries to gloss over with the discourse of “rectification” and “popular participation.”

This is the umpteenth version of the plan presented after the failed "monetary ordering," a measure that instead of stabilizing the economy, further undermined the purchasing power of Cubans.

El documento que el régimen promueve como Programa de Gobierno para corregir distorsiones fue elaborado, según Granma, por el Central Committee of the Party y presentado por el primer ministro Manuel Marrero Cruz ante la Asamblea Nacional del Poder Popular.

According to the official statement, the plan aims to “advance the gradual recovery of the economy and overcome the complex situation we are facing.”

The Party Directorate ordered the text to be submitted for analysis in all grassroots structures.

Sessions will also be held at the FMC and the CDR, as well as at the municipal assemblies of the People's Power and the management councils at the national and provincial levels.

The process includes seminars and videoconferences with officials from provinces not affected by Hurricane Melissa.

According to the statement, the aim is to generate a "participatory debate" as a demonstration of "socialist democracy."

“The Customs Youth enthusiastically and committedly joins this participatory call that strengthens our government program. With effort, responsibility, and confidence in our project, we reaffirm that #IStandWithMyPresident and that together we will build the Cuba we dream of,” published the official user @ElianneToro on social media.

The so-called "distortion correction plan" is actually a reaffirmation of the same political and economic script that the regime has repeated in recent years: a combination of triumphant rhetoric, a lack of verifiable data, and promises of short-term recovery that never materialize.

During the last session of the Council of Ministers, Marrero outlined the alleged progress of the plan since July and assured that "39 specific objectives" are being updated along with a timeline of actions until December.

However, the government did not provide a single piece of data regarding its real impact on the lives of Cubans, which are marked by scarcity, blackouts, and the devaluation of the peso.

The regime insists that the process will serve to "align goals and resources," but avoids addressing the structural failures of the centralized model that hinder productivity and free economic initiative.

Official rhetoric once again focuses on "unity" and "trust in the socialist project," while the country suffers from galloping inflation, a growing fiscal deficit, and a paralyzed productive system.

The population, worn out by years of scarcity, perceives these calls as yet another exercise in propaganda with no concrete results.

“Let's get through these difficulties, as we always have, by fighting!” said Army General Raúl Castro Ruz, as quoted by Granma.

Meanwhile, Díaz-Canel and Marrero continue to push for their "updated" economic program, but without accountability or transparency in management.
