Víctor Rosario Miranda, a Puerto Rican businessman and candidate for the Miami-Dade County mayoralty in the 2028 elections, was arrested in an incident that involved public disturbance, a vehicle chase, and serious charges of assault on a police officer.

The incident that led to the arrest of Rosario Miranda took place on Saturday in the Brickell area, one of the busiest and most residential neighborhoods in downtown Miami.

According to witnesses cited by the local press, Rosario was seen shouting with a megaphone in front of the Maizon apartment complex, leading to complaints from residents about noise and disruption of the peace.

The situation escalated when an undercover officer approached to assess the scene.

According to reports, Rosario Miranda ignored the officer and fled in her vehicle, which triggered a daytime police chase involving several patrol cars.

Finally, the authorities managed to intercept him. The officers ordered him to get out of the car and proceeded to arrest him.

No injuries were reported during the arrest, although the incident was captured on video by witnesses.

Serious criminal charges

Rosario Miranda, 58 years old, faces a series of criminal charges, several of which are considered serious.

According to the records of the Turner Guilford Knight Detention Center (TGK), the charges against him include:

-Resistance to an officer with violence.

-Aggravated assault on a police officer with a deadly weapon.

-Flight or evasion from authority.

-Disorderly conduct.

- Disturbance of public order.

-Public disturbances.

After his arrest, he appeared in bail court on November 17.

In that hearing, a judge decided that Rosario should remain in custody due to the seriousness of the charges. Subsequently, a bail of $10,300 was set.

A businessman with political ambitions

Rosario Miranda was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and is the founder of two companies: The Bass Agency LLC, specializing in organizing electronic music events and corporate productions; and The Equation Agency LLC, focused on creative marketing and brand development.

He is no stranger in the local political scene. In 2024, he ran, unsuccessfully, for the mayor of Miami Beach.

His name has come up again after announcing his intention to run for the Miami-Dade mayoral election in 2028.

On her campaign website, Rosario Miranda presents herself as a Republican candidate committed to a vision of "modern governance."

He describes himself as a “bold and innovative leader” with a proposal focused on technological governance, infrastructure modernization, transparency through the use of blockchain technology, and job protection in the digital age.

The episode starring Rosario has not only had immediate legal consequences but also calls into question her viability as a political figure.

Although his candidacy for the 2028 elections is still in the preliminary stage, the serious charges he faces could disqualify him politically and publicly.

At the moment, neither Rosario Miranda nor her campaign team have made any public statements regarding the incident.
