What is the Kingdom of the Netherlands?

Many people simply know it as Holland, but the Kingdom of the Netherlands is actually a state that encompasses four countries under one king and a common foreign policy. It consists of the Netherlands (in Europe), Aruba, Curaçao, and Sint Maarten (in the Caribbean).

King Willem-Alexander is the head of state of the entire Kingdom, and his embassies—such as the one in Havana—represent the four nations that make it up.

In other words, when we talk about the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Cuba, we are not referring only to Holland, but to the entire Kingdom, which also includes these three Caribbean territories.
