In recent months, multiple fires involving electric motorcycles have been reported in various provinces of Cuba, raising concerns among users and highlighting the need for stricter regulations and awareness campaigns regarding their safe use.

These vehicles have become essential due to the fuel shortage and the decline of public transportation, but incidents related to their batteries have multiplied.

In September, an electric motorcycle caught fire in the middle of the street in the city of Guantánamo. Around the same time, another electric motorcycle ignited in the middle of the street in Santiago de Cuba.

Shortly before, an electric motorcycle caught fire in the middle of Galiano Avenue, in Central Havana, causing explosions that disrupted traffic and raised concern among passersby.

In the municipality of Mayarí, Holguín, another vehicle started to emit smoke just minutes after being parked, until it was engulfed in flames. The swift action of firefighters and neighbors prevented a greater tragedy.
