According to journalist Francys Romero on Facebook, the 30-year-old slugger from Pinar del Río currently represents the Gigantes de Rivas, a team with which he has become one of the most consistent offensive figures in the tournament. His display of power in the Derby confirmed the excellent form he is experiencing on Nicaraguan soil.

 

Alonso reached the Double-A level with the Miami Marlins organization before embarking on his career in the professional circuits of Mexico and Nicaragua, where since 2022 he has gained prominence due to his power and offensive consistency.

With this historic performance in the Derby, the Cuban reaffirms his status as one of the most formidable hitters in professional baseball in Central America.
