American consumers spent a total of 14.25 billion dollars during Cyber Monday, the highest figure in the history of this shopping day.

According to data from Adobe Analytics, cited by Fox Business, sales increased by 7.1% compared to the previous year, slightly surpassing the initial projection of $14.2 billion.

In the last minutes of the day, consumers spent as much as 16 million dollars per minute, an unprecedented figure.

The increase was due to significant discounts on electronics, toys, and clothing, with markdowns of up to 31% on some items.

The biggest cuts were concentrated in computers, televisions, and furniture, with average discounts ranging from 19% to 23%, while appliances and sports items also showed reductions close to 20%.

“U.S. retailers resorted to aggressive discounts to stimulate online demand,” explained Vivek Pandya, lead analyst at Adobe Digital Insights.

He added that the offers extended from Black Friday “created an environment in which both dates compete for leadership in digital sales.”

Between November 1 and December 1, American consumers spent $137.4 billion on online purchases, representing a year-over-year increase of 7.2%.

Only during the five-day period between Thanksgiving and Cyber Monday, sales reached $44.2 billion, a 7.7% increase compared to 2024.

The report also highlighted the growth of the "buy now, pay later" system, which reached a record of $1.03 billion in transactions, a 4.2% increase compared to the previous year.

The increase reflects that many consumers are looking to stretch their budgets in light of the rising cost of living.

Despite the economic challenges, analysts highlight that online shopping behavior continues to demonstrate the strength of American consumption, confirming Cyber Monday as the day with the highest digital sales in the world.
